BROAD Energy has once again demonstrated its global leadership in sustainable energy innovation by winning the Green Design International Award in the category of Energy Transformation & Urban Sustainable Development. The award was presented at the 15th World Green Design Organization (WGDO) Conference & Brussels Summit, held in Belgium on January 21, 2026.
Often referred to as the “Oscar of Green Design”, this prestigious recognition highlights BROAD Energy’s outstanding contribution to low-carbon urban energy systems, renewable energy integration, and future-ready city infrastructure.

Award-Winning Renewable Energy Project: Nanjing Southern New City
The award-winning project, Renewable Energy Regional Supply Project in Nanjing Southern New City, represents a breakthrough in zero-carbon urban energy planning. Designed to eliminate dependence on fossil fuels, the project delivers a highly efficient, intelligent, and environmentally responsible district energy solution.
Key Project Highlights
1. Composite Renewable Energy Structure
The system integrates multiple clean energy technologies into a single optimized platform, including:
- Sewage (reclaimed water) source heat pumps
- Photovoltaic (solar) power generation
- Energy storage systems
- Intelligent energy control platforms
This composite structure enables stable, fossil-fuel-free energy supply while maximizing renewable energy utilization.
2. High-Efficiency Regional Energy Supply
The project supplies energy to approximately 2.4 million square meters of buildings through:
- Centralized regional energy stations
- Intelligent underground pipeline networks
- High-efficiency magnetic levitation (oil-free) equipment
This district energy approach significantly improves overall system efficiency while reducing operating and maintenance costs.
3. Smart Energy Management with AI & Big Data
An advanced AI- and big-data-driven energy management platform enables real-time monitoring and optimization of:
- Energy production
- Energy transmission
- Energy consumption
This smart system ensures optimal performance, energy savings, and long-term operational reliability.
Environmental Impact & Carbon Reduction Performance
The Nanjing Southern New City project delivers measurable environmental benefits:
- Saves approximately 12,000 tons of standard coal per year
- Reduces more than 30,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually
- Equivalent to planting 1.5 million trees in urban carbon-sink value
These results strongly support global climate action goals and showcase how green infrastructure can drive both environmental and economic value.

A Scalable Model for Zero-Carbon Cities
This project sets a replicable and scalable benchmark for future zero-carbon city developments worldwide. It proves that integrated green design can successfully balance environmental responsibility, urban functionality, and economic sustainability—making it a powerful reference for governments, developers, and industries pursuing sustainable urban transformation.
