Two BROAD teams, one shared thesis: the cheapest unit of cooling is the one made from heat you were already throwing away. That was the throughline of “From Less Heat to High Efficiency,” a joint webinar hosted by BROAD Indonesia in collaboration with BROAD India, bringing together engineers, facility managers, and technical buyers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

1. Two technologies, one stage

The session opened with a walkthrough of BROAD’s broader innovation history — pressure-free heating boilers, non-electric air conditioning, and a globally networked equipment-monitoring system — framed around the environmental problems each was built to solve, from ozone depletion to climate change.

Aldo Susanto then took the technical lead on BROAD’s absorption chiller line, explaining how the technology converts waste heat from industrial processes — heat that would otherwise be vented or wasted — into chilled water, cutting electricity draw and carbon emissions in the process. He walked through case studies from Indonesian facilities showing measurable CO₂ reduction and energy savings.

2. Proven in the field

Mr. Johnson, General Manager of BROAD India, followed with the Power Efficient Chiller (PEC) — a different route to the same goal, built around oil-free, magnetic-bearing compressor technology and multiple-compressor redundancy for reliability and low maintenance.

He grounded the pitch in operating history rather than spec-sheet claims: an 800RT PEC installation at Gramophone in Bangladesh that has been running for seven years, and a project at American International University where three 415RT units were customized for the site and later expanded through additional orders.

3. Engineers don’t let anything slide

The audience skewed technical, and the Q&A reflected it. Instead of general product questions, attendees pushed on the engineering details that determine whether a chiller actually performs on-site:

The level of detail — pump head calculations, turn-down behavior, pipeline and expansion-tank sizing — is itself a signal: this was an audience of engineering and facility decision-makers evaluating a real purchase, not casual attendees.

19 participants from Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan joined the session, spanning HVAC sales managers, service engineers, project managers, and one engineering student from Bandung Institute of Technology.

4. What happens next

The webinar closed with a reminder for attendees to submit the feedback form to receive their e-certificates — and a short list of follow-up commitments across both teams:

  1. BROAD Indonesia committed to sending e-certificates to every registered participant within three working days — and delivered ahead of schedule, on July 27.
  2. BROAD’s local service team is confirming training details for a requested BROAD service training program.
  3. BROAD Pakistan is following up directly with attendees who raised technical questions during the session.
  4. BROAD Indonesia and BROAD India are jointly following up with participants who requested a free consultation on their cooling-system requirements.

5. Why this matters

On its own, a single webinar is a modest data point. But this one did something specific: it combined two complementary BROAD product lines — waste-heat-driven absorption chillers and electrically-driven, magnetic-bearing PEC units — into one coherent story about energy efficiency, told to a genuinely regional audience across three countries.

That combination matters for facility owners weighing cooling investments in 2026: it means BROAD can meet a site wherever its waste-heat profile happens to sit, rather than offering a single technology and hoping it fits.
